Lauries Live Acoustic Music Bar, Glasgow - hosting the Ballad Workshop and RAY FISHER

LauriesLauries houses The Acoustic Music Centre. This is Glasgows centre of live Traditional Folk music, World Music, Jazz, Jug, Country and Bluegrass - in the heart of old Glasgow, and part of the Merchant City.

Lauries has been the originator and the mainstay of the Celtic Connections fringe, a strong supporter of Folk Festivals and Traditional Music. Have a look at The Ballad Workshop ! Lauries is also the new home of the former Riverside Club Ceilidh, still run by Mary Laurie. The Riverside Club was the real star of Ceilidhs in it's day - it is now eclipsed - LAURIE'S has it all!!

staffCy Laurie, the Proprietor, is a well-known Scottish Traditional singer with strong Folk Music links, who has hosted many successful Charity events. Cy is committed to Acoustic Music, whether it be Folk song, Jazz or Country.

Lauries resident Uptown Shufflers trad jazz band on Saturday from 2.30 until 5.30, is a major feature - you can't fail to enjoy this wonderful Live Jazz Saturday afternoon.

At Lauries, you will receive a friendly welcome from owners Cy and Mary Laurie, and manageress Pat Murray.
